HOW IT WORKS

There are three individual techniques that some systems use on their own to target specific ways to sanitize the water. However, more advanced systems like Hayward’s leading HydraPure® Sanitization System combine all three to maximize their individual benefits, significantly reducing chlorine consumption in the process*. Here is a quick overview of each component:

• UV systems sanitize the water using shortwave light to neutralize organic contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and other nasty germs and even neutralize some chlorine-resistant microorganisms.
• Ozone systems use Ozone (O3) to destroy microorganisms, along with chemicals like chloramines and nitrogen compounds.
• Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) systems combine UV and ozone to produce hydroxyl radicals (•OH) that sanitize faster than ozone and quickly oxidize without lingering smells or harmful residuals.

Note: HydraPure® must be used in tandem with an existing chlorination system.
